The RTX 3050
NVIDIA’s RTX 3050 launched back in January when the entire market was in utter chaos. Having performance on par with a GTX 1660 Ti, it did receive criticism. Although, at that time, even a GTX 1650 would do for most users. In any case, having features such as DLSS and RTX made it a popular choice amongst budget gamers. The pricing was a concern unless you got this GPU at MSRP. For today’s news, MSI has unveiled the GeForce RTX 3050 VENTUS 2X 8G OCV1. Now, the thing that differentiates this variant from its GA106 counterpart is the ‘V1’ at the end of its name. V1, in the case of MSI, highlights the GA107 model. This is the 3rd variant NVIDIA has launched for the RTX 3050. The first one was the base 3050 with the GA106 GPU and 2560 CUDA cores. The second was an OEM variant with the GA106 GPU but 2304 CUDA cores. This is the third variant with the GA107 GPU and 2560 CUDA cores. Seems like team green is doing all it can to clear up all remaining Ampere inventory. The only difference is the lower power consumption and the GA107 GPU. The actual performance is currently unknown, however, reviewers will test this GPU in a few days. In the pricing category, this GPU should see a price drop as compared to the GA107 based 3050.
