Return to Silent Hill is the name of the third installment in the Silent Hill film series, which is being directed by Christophe Gans, who also directed the first film. For the time being, specifics are being kept under wraps, but Konami has promised to reveal additional information regarding the project at a later date.  Return to Silent Hill, a sequel to the original film that was released in 2006, is now in production by the same team. The novel Silent Hill 2 is being translated into a film, which is now in the production phase.

As the associate producer at Konami and head of IP and cross-media development for Silent Hill, Rui Naito, referred to the film as the “catalyst” for new Silent Hill games in the Silent Hill Transmission. The original film’s producer, Victor Hadida, contacted Konami about making a sequel. This prompted the idea to relaunch the series in time for the new movie’s release.  In addition, Konami has unveiled Silent Hill: Ascension, an interactive project known as an immersive game in which players from all around the world will take control of the protagonists in a new Silent Hill scenario.

The trailer concluded with the phrase “Live 2023” after showing images of chat bubbles in which individuals discussed whether or not they could save “her.” It’s being produced in collaboration with Genvid, J.J. Abrams’ film and TV production business gaming arm Bad Robot Games, Dead by Daylight studio Behaviour Interactive, and video-game-to-TV specialty production company dj2 Entertainment. As of now, there is no word on the release date, but we will keep you posted once we have more information.
